Has the Florida resale market hit bottom?

Over the past six weeks or so we have been experiencing a marked increase in those individuals looking and in fact offering to purchase homes here in Charlotte County.  After a significant market lull, asking prices are now extremely competitive and the time to buy is now.

The below article, which was published on March 9th, by the Florida Association of Realtors, confirms and supports our recent activity.

Excerpt:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. / March 9, 2007 – Hopeful home buyers in Florida should act now: The price is right as the state’s single-family residential housing market bottoms out, according to a University of Florida study released today.

“If you’re thinking of buying a house, there’s probably not much to be gained by holding out at this point,” says Wayne Archer, director of UF’s Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies. “It doesn’t look like prices are going to fall anymore.”
