Notes from Charlotte County, Florida

Florida's population by county for 2007

As published by the Bureau of Economic and Business Research, which has been tracking Florida’s population and economy since 1929, the attached state population chart shows that Florida continues to grow at a rapid pace.

The counties surrounding Charlotte are shown below:

Charlotte County’s 2007 Population is 164,584 – up 16.2% since 2000

DeSoto County’s 2007 Population is 33,983 – up 5.5% since 2000

Sarasota County’s 2007 Population is 387,461 – up 18.9% since 2000

Lee County’s 2007 Population is 615,741 – up 39.7% since 2000

As noted in the chart, the state’s population has increase 16.9% between 2000 and 2007, and now stands at 18,680,267. Florida continues to grow!
